Impact
On
Education |
| |
|
Illegal
Immigration
has a
profound
negative
impact
on our
public
school
systems
nationwide. |
| |
|
Note
that the
federal
government
requires
public
schools
accommodate
the
needs of
the
non-English
speaking
students,
regardless
of their
legal
status.
The most
obvious
example
of
accommodation
is the
addition
of
English
as a
Second
Language
(ESL)
programs
to the
curriculum. |
| |
|
Education
organizations
report
that
special
programs
for non-english
speaking
students
create a
hindrance
to the
overall
learning
environment
&
experience
for
students. |
| |
|
Furthermore,
enrollment
will
reach 55
million
by 2020
& 60
million
by 2030,
as
overall
immigration
accounts
for 96%
of
increases
of
school-age
population
in the
next 50
years.
|
| |
|
In other
words,
when
subtracting
overall
immigration
from our
population,
school
enrollments
would
not have
risen at
all
during
the past
decade. |
| |
|
Note,
that
between
1990 and
2000,
enrollment
increased
by 14%
thus
surpassing
enrollment
records
set in
1970 by
the
children
of “baby
boomers”. |
| |
|
To place
this
stats
into a
clearer
perspective,
you
should
know
that in
California,
a new
school
opens
every
day of
the year
to keep
up with
population
growth,
and will
do so in
perpetuity...in
most
part due
to
overall
immigration. |
